Back in the Saddle

June 30, 2010

Busy with Scene Stealer for the last few months. I’ve jotted a few ideas on bits of paper and a yellow pad and now I need to place my rear end on my swivel chair in front of my computer and start typing the first draft of a new article. Miss finding the proper words, sentences and paragraphs that make up a whole piece. It’s time.

Launch Day

June 28, 2010

June 28. Scene Stealer is launched. Miss Weidenmaier, little Kevin Corocoran, Lieutenant Timothy Brown, Bertram Barton, Lawrence Dunn and their friends and adversaries will be meeting readers beginning today. I picture fireworks lighting up the sky, corks popping and a lush summer day. My characters have gotten under my skin, I hope readers will enjoy their company.

Second Review

June 27, 2010

Scene Stealer received its second review this morning. Miss Weidenmaier and I are pleased though I’m sure Miss Weidenmaier, a retired school teacher wishes everyone would pay more attention to their grammar and I’m afraid will never stop correcting people.
Tomorrow is THE DAY. Scene Stealer will be published. Excited, nervous and pleased.

June 28 is coming

June 26, 2010

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday June 28. A red letter day in my life. Scene Stealer will be published. I can’t resist looking at the websites for Barnes & Noble, Amazon and, of course, Carina Press. Vanity? Hope? A dream come true? A desire to connect with readers? Whatever…time to sit back, try to relax and enjoy the present.

Doggone Good

June 21, 2010

Just learned that my piece on hot dogs titled Doggone Good will be the featured article in the July/August issue of the Elks magazine. It was a fun article to write and I hope readers will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Wednesday will be matinee day. tickets to see Sondheim on Sondheim. A marvelous cast, Barabara Cook and Vanessa Williams. And Saturday The Grand Manner at Lincoln Center. the comedy should help me steady my nerves. Guess I’m anticipating the launch of Scene Stealer, hoping to be reviewed and then praying the reviews are good. Think good thoughts.

One Right Shoe

June 13, 2010

I read about archeologists finding one right shoe buried under piles of sheep dung. The shoe, 5,500-years old was discoverd by a student in Armenia. Her dream come true. Everyone wonders what might have happened to the left? The shoe was well made; leather with laces and most likely belonged to the upper crust. The imagination can just run wild with this story. I thought, for a brief moment about becoming an archeologist before realizing it would be hard to find indoor plumbing.
